Hello Members,

Another year is almost gone and this is the time to ask all of our members what they think of our accomplishments and what they would like to see from EDS in the future.

On a positive note we have given our members several events with various venues. EDS has its own Website now and on FaceBook. We have reached out to our local equine clubs to participate with our shows. We are currently allowing other clubs to advertise their shows on our clubs’ newsletter calendar. Also, let us not forget our fantastic News Editor Linda Threet who has taken such an active role with communicating to our members this year. As our organization reaches out to the public, we have received many positive comments. We have given away a lot of nice prizes for our winners this year and have attracted many new members. Our bank account is doing well enough to start planning for next seasons activities. Now we have only one thing left to do, we need you, our members, to guide and direct us as to what you would like to have next season. Therefore, I am asking all of our members, past and present, to fill out the questionnaire being sent and return it to our Vice President, Julia Barker as soon as possible.

EDS has become the club we all can be proud of due to the tireless efforts from our members and officers. I am very grateful to each and every one of you and will miss not being your President next year. I have indeed made a lot of cherished friends. At this time I have too many pressing commitments. Even though I am saddened, I will serve as your Vice President if called upon. I thank you all for the experiences, good and bad because we have all learned from each other and in retrospect have grown in the process.

Respectfully yours,
Yvonne Barnum

November Carriage Capers

Hello Members,

Thank you everyone who showed at the State Fair this year. It was a good show and I believe everyone enjoyed it.

Remember on the 30 th we will be having a fun trail show with those who just want to drive in the country. Since many of us are beginners this is a good opportunity to take your horses out and simply enjoy them. After having a long show season, this will be a great treat for all. Please mark it on your calendar.

In November we will be having a poker rally. This is where anyone can win from the lowest to the highest of skill levels. No competition, just good fun.

If any of you are interested in running for an office please do. Elections are coming up soon. It is a wonderful opportunity for someone to learn the ins and outs of carriage driving from behind the scenes.

Again I want to personally thank all of you who worked so very hard to make this an enjoyable show season. There were some difficulties at first but we pulled through and landed on our feet with grace and dignity. Without your help this might never have happened.

EDS has gained so many new members this year and I am looking forward to working with and helping you all to obtain your goals with your equine. This organization welcomes anyone who wants and needs assistance with learning all about driving skills. Hopefully, we will be having some clinics and training sessions next year for our new members and even for those who just want to challenge the skills they already have. We never stop learning.

Respectfully,
Yvonne Barnum
